What to do? Where to go? Who to listen to? Who not to listen to? What rights do we have? How can we best guide our son/daughter through life?
Ignorance and uncertainty cause fear, anger and alienation.
Knowledge and understanding do just the opposite and make for good team work and better prospects.
Therefore we have put together this quick and initial guide to the essential information you need to have as a parent/carer of a child with learning difficulties. Or rather, the rights that your child has to a decent start in life
in today’s society.

A set of six leaflets .
Dumfries and Galloway Council's Hope Service had a "fantastic response" to its unique information pack on learning difficulties.
The pack, which was written by Mindroom and funded by Jobcentre
Plus, contains leaflets explaining a range of learning difficulties,
how employers might help staff with these common conditions, and what
particular benefits people with these difficulties can bring to a
business.
Royal Mail ,which recruits from all walks of life, people with all kinds of learning and physical disability, recently asked Mindroom to help create top-quality educational literature which could be distributed to schools.
The result is a six-leaflet pack, written by Mindroom and designed by Graphic Partners, Edinburgh.
