Location
Glasgow is Scotland's cultural capital and one of the most dynamic cities in Europe. Steeped in culture, rich in history and with elegant streets, squares, parks and gardens the name Glasgow actually means "dear green place". What's more, Glasgow is one of the finest Victorian cities in the UK with magnificent architecture everywhere you look. Glasgow has one of Europe's finest civic art collections and entry into all 27 of the city's galleries is free.
Lonely Planet recently said of the city: "Glasgow is regenerating and evolving at a dizzying pace. Its Victorian architectural legacy is now swamped with cutting-edge style bars and world-class venues to tickle your taste buds. The city is going through a long-term transformation, evident along the revitalised River Clyde."
Visitors will love Glasgow, the friendliness of the locals, the quality of the shops, as well as the numerous high quality restaurants, bars and clubs. Scotland has some of the world's most breathtaking scenery - much of it on Glasgow's doorstep. And, if you want to bring your clubs, many of the world's finest golf clubs are only a short drive away.
Mind the weather! March is the start of spring in Glasgow. Although the weather is generally dry and cold during this time of year, it can also turn to rain very quickly. Delegates should be prepared for rainfall. The average temperature is 7°C.
