Mindroom Bigger Picture Award

Established in 2006, in collaboration with prestigious American Journal of Attention Disorders.

The award seeks to encourage research into ADHD and co-existing difficulties. The prize is provided to the authors of an innovative article contributing to an understanding of issues related to co-occurring psychiatric developmental and related problems in ADHD.

In addition to a small cash prize, the award includes a limited edition print created especially for the JAD award by Professor Eileen Hogan, an internationally recognized artist.

This year’s winners, Vinod Bhatara, Roland Loudenberg and Roland Ellis of the University of South Dakota explored the association between prevalence of ADHD and levels of risk for gestational alcohol exposure.  Their article titled, Association of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Gestational Alcohol Exposure: An Exploratory Study, appeared in Volume 9(3) of the February 2006 issue (pages 515-522).

Last years winners, and the very first winners of the Mindroom Bigger Picture Awards, were Drs Blackman, Ostrander and Herman at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. The subject for their clinical study was the clinical presentation of children with ADHD and Depression.
