It has been a busy time for consultations in Scotland. At Salvesen Mindroom Centre, we feel it is really important to contribute to national policy, guidance or legislation. We want to help make sure that neurodiversity is ‘baked in’ to any important developments of the law or practice. And we want to share the knowledge that we gain from speaking every day to children, young people and families about their lived experience of neurodiversity. Our responses are always informed by the work we do directly with families and professionals.
Since February, we have contributed consultation responses to:
- Bail and release from custody
- The mental health law review
- Guidance on home education
- Education – National Improvement Framework – enhanced data collection
There are several more consultations in the pipeline and we will continue to make the case for equal treatment of, and opportunities for, everyone who is neurodivergent.
