Salary £23,750 - £28,000 depending on skills and experience
We are looking for an experienced family support practitioner to join our team.
Every year, our highly skilled advice and outreach team support hundreds of families across Scotland, and numbers are increasing annually. Our helpline is open five days a week, with expert advisors available to help those whose lives have been impacted by learning difficulties, providing the emotional support and the right information. For those who require more direct support, our highly experienced outreach team works throughout Scotland, engaging with both families and the professionals in schools, social work, justice, and health to ensure that we really are getting it right for every child.
This is a key role for our organisation, supporting the parent /carers of children and young people living with learning difficulties, as well as professionals working with them, by providing information, advice and 1:1 support. The service may also be provided to children and young people up to the age of 25. The role involves telephone and email communication including signposting or ongoing advice depending on the need identified. In this role you will assess when more intensive support may be appropriate and will refer on to your outreach specialist colleagues.
