Help Lead, help colleges improve things for disabled learners across Scotland.

Published

Recent research has found that disabled learners in colleges aren’t progressing through learning levels as well as non-disabled learners, so Lead Scotland need your help to find out why this might be happening. If you’re in one of the following groups, then Lead would be grateful if you could spare 5-10 minutes to complete a short online survey:

• if you’re currently at college
• if you’ve been to college in the past
• if you’re the parent or carer of a disabled learner who is at (or has been to) college

Your help with this survey will really help Lead to put together an action plan to help colleges improve things for disabled learners across Scotland.  This should help to reduce any barriers to progressing through learning, and give disabled learners the same chances as non-disabled people.

You can access the surveys below.  Please note there are 2 separate surveys – one for learners (or former learners), and one for parents/carers:

• Survey for learners: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YJ9MH28
• Survey for parents/carers: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y7PM8YX

Lead also need volunteers to take part in interviews (either over the phone or in person) and focus group discussions to discuss your experiences at college.  If you are interested in taking part in either of these, please contact Lesley Carcary at: E-mail: lcarcary@lead.org.uk, Telephone: 0131 228 9441.
